Reviews are free, independent, honest, professional and are freely accessible on my web site, as well as being available for use in your own promotional material.

What I will review
Essentially, anything intended for guitarists. Instruments,  amplifiers, effects, parts or accessories, etc. The only items I will not review are tuitional books, videos, etc., I am not an educator and do not feel I can do these materials justice.

Can anyone apply?
Anyone at all. Bear in mind, however, that I'm in Cape Town, South Africa. This means that if you are a manufacturer located in another country, it will probably be better if you arrange the supply of the product via your South African distributor, rather than shipping the product to me directly.

Costs involved
My reviews are not a promotional service - I do not write complimentary reviews in exchange for a fee. I ask for no fee from anybody providing product for review and I will not accept a fee if tendered. The only exception to this is in the case of my operating as a product consultant (see below).

Returns
I do not insist on keeping the product sent for review, but if you require the review product to be returned, make sure you make this clear before you provide the product, and be aware you are responsible for shipping costs. If you are shipping from a country other than South Africa, be aware that there may be customs duties too.

Condition of product
Since the review process often includes disassembly to see how it's built and similar non-recommended activities, I can give no guarantee that the returned product will be in as-new condition. Likewise, boxes and cartons are commonly dented in the post. I take care to keep review product in good condition, but regretfully can accept no responsibility for any damage caused.

Fair Use policy
You, and anyone else, may freely use the text of my review in promotional literature, provided you include prominent acknowledgement of the text's source and the URL of the review. You may not reprint my review or any part thereof as an article in a for-profit publication or web site without my express permission.

If I have already reviewed your product
If I have already reviewed your product on this site, without you sending me a review sample, please contact me and let me know if you are going to use it in your promotional literature or web site. Once again, please include prominent acknowledgement of the text's source and the URL of the review.

Product consultancy
I will provide a fee-based consultancy service on request. This would be primarily for:

• distributors wanting an unbiased, third party opinion on a product or range of guitar-related products they are considering taking up
  
• manufacturers wanting input on design, specifications, features or build quality of their guitar-related products

This service is not to be confused with my free product reviews - my reports or comments are for your internal use only and may not be taken as an endorsement or used for promotional or advertising purposes.
