| Kinman Traditional MKII pickups |
The Kinman Traditional MKII pickups are here and have been fitted to the Frankenstrat.
First impressions are good - completely noiseless and tonally great. They still sound like single-coils, without any of the compression or missing high end exibited by other noiseless "single-coils" .
The Kinmans are not identical to the Fender Custom Shop '69 pickups they replaced, they are slightly warmer sounding - which is not surprising, given the fact that the CS '69s are very bright. The bridge pickup is slightly hotter and the neck pickup gorgeous.
I'll be writing a full review as soon as the honeymoon is over and I have some serious playing time with them. |
